Clinical neurophysiology is the study of the functions of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord), peripheral (nerves, muscles) and neuromuscular junction. It is considered as an extension of the neurological physical examination and it helps to confirm or rule out a diagnostic impression, by evaluating the function of the structures that comprise it. It is a subspecialty of neurology, but it is also closely related and supports the diagnostics in specialties such as orthopedics, internal medicine, rheumatology, neurosurgery, among others. We treat patients with diseases such as: Multiple sclerosis, facial paralysis, neuropathies by entrapment: (carpal tunnel, ulnar trapping, tarsal tunnel), lesions of the brachial fold, radiculopathies, neuropathies, myasthenia gravis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, myopathies, alterations of the auditory, visual and sensitive path.
