Patient Safety at the Hospital International de Colombia - HIC is fundamental. These are the recommendations that patients, family members, caregivers and collaborators should keep in mind to ensure adequate care and well-being.
Ensure correct identification
Our HIC patients must have an identification handle, where full names and their identification number are recorded. If for any reason this is lost or damaged, you must request its replacement immediately. Also, you should make sure that the staff constantly checks the identification.
Do not accept medication, transfers or procedures without someone verifying the information on the handle.

Identify the staff in charge of the patient's care
Make sure the staff that treats the patient washes their hands
Report the medications the patient takes at home
Reduce the risk of falls
Prevent errors in surgical procedures
Important documentation for patient safety
Ask everything you need to know, don't be left in doubt
