The Hospital Internacional de Colombia - HIC is a world-class medical complex developed by the Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia - FCV created with the objective of generating better health coverage service for the people in the east region of Colombia, with a national and international projection.
It is considered the most important medical complex in Santander and northeastern Colombia, as well as one of the most recognized in the country and one of the most prominent in Latin America. It is in the third category level of High Complexity and fourth level of Medical Care. Nationally, it ranks third as the Best Hospital in Colombia and seventh in Latin America, according to the 2020 ranking of the América Economía magazine; which catalogues it as the medical complex with one of the best patient experience models, with a close relationship and a great sense of humanization.
In 2019 the HIC received for the first time the international accreditation by the Joint Commission International - JCI with the recognition 'Gold Seal of Approval ®', a distinction that guarantees compliance with international standards for the provision of high quality medical services and patient safety.

In addition, it is conformed by the already existing Instituto Cardiovascular de la FCV - ICV first clinic of the Institution, operating since 1997, and the first one in Colombia accredited as a hospital program by the JCI with the 'Gold Seal of Approval ®' since 2009, recognition that guarantees the compliance of our Institution with the international standards of quality in medical care for the patient and the administration of health services.
